Review: Started watching this movie and twenty minutes in I was like this movie reminds me of something I have watched before. An hour into the movie, I realized that I watched the remake at some point. That being said, I liked this version better. The antagonist was creepier then my fuzzy memory of the remake. It is one of those movies that is unsettling, because you know who the killer is throughout the movie and everything he does it just part of his normal life. Kind of reminded me of the uneasy feeling I get from watching Henry the Diary of a Serial Killer when you realize there is no justification or backstory for why they are killing or even picked someone. Just the wrong place at the wrong time. Especially interesting to me is that I have watched a few 80s horror movies this month where the person that lives or is last to die is the good person who just happen to get wrapped up into a bad situation. This movie takes that away and says, no lessons learned nobody is safe. Such a great feeling, when watching a horror movie.

I have never seen the remake!
ReplyDeleteThe villain in this is super creepy though. He took a lot of cues from Bundy, especially with that arm in a cast.
