Summary: Movie follows a Prison Warden and his Assistant who are trying to find a way to cut cost so that they don't get fired. Eventually resulting in creating a human centipede of inmates.

Review: What can I say about this movie. It was a campy, gory, and super meta movie. After reflecting on this movie for two days now, I'm thinking if the three movies are meant to be like a centipede as one long movie or individual movies, then is the theme of the movie segmented depending on what you are looking to get from this movie?

Spoiler alert!!

As an example if you felt the franchise was morally wrong or gross, then you can see this movie as fuck you to anyone who protested the first two movies. Such as when the prison inmates were making comments while watching the first two movies, they were yelling at the screen quotes that real people said about the original movies. Another fuck you was the Warden. If you can think of something offensive to say or do he probably did it. Such as all sorts of racist things, sexual harassment, and firing his pistol into the intestines of an inmate and having shit and blood splatter everywhere.

If you felt the first movie was a commentary on fascism and the second movie was about a fanboy who loved the first movie, then the third connects some dots that Right-wing Americans are fascist. *insert mind-blown* So to set this seen, you have to look at a few things. First the Warden is played by the actor who played the Doctor in the first movie. The Warden is a racist, misogynist, and insane person. His assistant who mentions in the movie that he idolizes the Warden, is the actor who played in the second movie who is still fan-boying over the movie franchise and the doctor. The Assistant is also sporting a Hitler mustache, which the Assistant makes the comment that he grew out to look more like the Warden, which neither the Warden or the Doctor had a mustache. Making a parallel that both the Warden and his Assistant representing a form of fascism through how they see the inmates as lesser people and the nods to Hitler with the mustache and first movie. The Warden and the Assistant at one point the movie make fun of how the Governor is a communist, because he only smokes Cuban cigars and not the finest American cigars. Implying that the Warden and the Assistant see America as better then everywhere else, the comment about Communism implies a bias toward other countries. Also the prison they work in is called the George H.W. Bush prison. All these things imply heavily that the Warden and Assistant are more likely conservative Americans. To double down on this, the American flag as well as an eagle is shown when the Warden looks outside. The eagle is always represents Truth, Justice, and the American way. Which the Warden runs the prison, and anything that happens there is based on his truth, his justice, and what he views as the American way. Such as using people for his own personal gain to creating a human centipede with all the inmates to save money (American Way), being able to beat up a prisoner and then have the Assistant make it look like an accident (Truth), and when the inmates are acting up he has the power to kill a prisoner without being questioned by anyone in the prison (Justice). So you have two conservative Americans that take ideas from the previous movies which represent fascism and decide to apply it to the people they redeem as lesser people. Connecting America Right-Wing as being Fascist.

You can also watch this as movie where the director sets the record straight about different opinions related to him or the movie. Great example of this is the scene where the director as himself was invited to the prison to walk through how the ass to mouth thing works. He makes a comment that his movies were a 100% accurate which on the interwebs people were discussing how this is not 100% accurate way to sew someone ass to mouth. He then proceeds to show and talk through a study someone did to show how it realistically it would work. Another commentary was that his movies are sick and it will encourage people to go out and do this in real life. Which he makes the comment that he will give the prison permission to use his resources as long as he gets to see the real surgery, because he has only seen it in latex and special effects. When he goes to watch the surgery, he throws up and says that is fucked up. Re-enforcing that his movies are just ways to vent, but not representing reality.

I might have missed some other themes, but what I have to say impresses me the most, is that I now want to watch the first two and see if any other layers appear.

    1. I made Casey watch this without seeing the other two, so maybe you can skip, with just knowing some little facts, like the assistant is played by the same actor that played the obsessed fan in the second.
